 Board of Director's Meeting

​The January 27, 2024 meeting was held at the Watershed District office, in person and via Zoom.

Present: President/Treasurer Anita Hagen, Vice President Mark Kragenbring, Secretary Pat Ryan, Jeff Gertgen, Bob Myerson, Dean Volk, via Zoom Brian Weist and Mark Stread. Absent were Ben Anderson, Tim Groshens, Gordy Behm, and Tom Hayden.

The November 18, 2023, minutes were approved as read.The Treasurer report as of December 31, 2023, showed a checking balance of $9.847.90, Savings $1,039.13 and Money Market $71,762.02 for a total of $81,649.05. Approved as presented.

Eric Hohman has resigned as AIS rep and Ben Anderson will take over the AIS work. The Board reviewed the bids for treating Curlyleaf Pondweed in Diamond Lake. Limnopro’s bid is $64,800 and PLM’s bic is $33,150 for2024 chemical treatment. Motion made, seconded, and carried to contract with PLM for 2024 invasive species treatment. A quote will be needed for the delineation survey from a third party.

Jeff and Mark will research options for harvesting weeds, who will do the harvesting, equipment needed, and any other expenses that may be incurred in the process.

Jeff reported that the DNR is loading walleyes into Schultz and Wheeler lakes. He also explained the Nanobubbles process that is being researched for the Mill Pond in New London and that it could be a possibility for Diamond Lake in the future. Jeff mentioned that the Watershed District is going to be working on identifying all inlets on the lake and that he will notify us if the Watershed District needs help in doing this.


Dues notices will be sent at the end of February.

The next board meeting will be on Aprill 27, 2024 at 9:00 at the Watershed District office. This meeting will be in person or via Zoom.
