From the 3/1/2025 Board Meeting....
The only item on the agenda is the Nanobubble Project for Diamond Lake.
Brian Weist updated the board on the status of the project. Dan Coughlin and Jon Morales have resigned from the MFCR Watershed District. Stantec’s report which was due to the Watershed Board on February 28
th was delayed for another week. The DNR is asking the MFCR Watershed for a permit for the Nanobubble Project. There needs to be further discuss with Kandiyohi County Board on power.
The DLARA Board may need to look at options for placement of piping, storage of pipes, land, power source. A 40-foot by 40-foot piece of land would be needed for two 20’ shipping containers; the property would need to be located by County Road 4 where there is Phase 3 power (Kandiyohi Power would pay ½ of the installation cost); access to the property would be needed to install, remove, and
There was further discussion regarding working on the following items in 2025 with a possible install of the nanobubble unit in spring of 2026. DNR permits, land and land permits, confirm MFCR Watershed commitment to the project, and decide if it is financially feasible for DLARA to purchase or lease with or without MFCR support. Motion by Jeff Gertgen to continue the evaluation process in 2025 to see if there is a viable solution to a purchase or lease solution for installation of the nanobubble unit in spring of 2026. Further discussion was on the understanding that the DLARA Board could proceed with what
may be needed for the installation up to just short of signing any documents. Motion carried
unanimously.
The Board gave Jeff Gertgen permission to contact the County regarding posting of algae issues.
